StudioRacks – Music Studio Desk – 003

A compact studio desk that would look great in a large home studio or professional studio alike, the StudioRacks Music Desk 003 takes inspiration from our original concept desk the MiniMaster. We have moved away from the open frame design to give a more substantial appearance and to help hide the cables.

It is available in a range of veneer finishes. There are hardwood edges to the desktop and front of the lower racks to provide extra durability.

The upper racks consist of 5u of racks space on each end of the desk which has a flat top to finish allowing room for small speakers to sit.

Additionally, the desk is cut out at the back to provide enough space for floor standing speaker stands to be placed in the gaps behind the desk.

The lower racks can be customised to your preference, you can have either 2 x 10u racks or 2 x shelf units or 1 of each. When the order is placed we will contact you to get your preference on these lower racks. The shelf is adjustable and has 3 height positions.

There is a column at the rear of the desk to support the desktop. The column is open at the back allowing cables to rise or drop whilst being hidden from the front view. There are a large number of cutouts that allows the cables to be passed left or right to the 192 racks without trailing on the floor and remaining largely out of view.

The desk comes equipped with adjustable feet to give an additional 10mm for levelling up on uneven floors.

All our desks are supplied with caged nuts washers and bolts for mounting gear onto the rack strips.

What is the overall footprint of the desk?
2030mm wide x 895mm deep. The desktop sits 750mm above the floor. The top of the 5u upper racks sits 880mm above the floor. (130mm above the desktop).

Construction

We are supplying these desks part built and will only need some basic level of hands-on construction to bring the desks to life.

I have to get the desk parts up a small staircase. What is the largest piece?
The rack cabinets are 730mm deep x 530mm wide x 880mm high. It should be ok to go upstairs although at an estimated weight of 30kg it would be essential to have 2 people carrying this and also the desktop

How long will it take to assemble the desk?

Once in the room and unpacked we would anticipate it to take between 1 and 2 hours.

What tools do I need?

All you will need is a medium-sized cross-head screwdriver to fit the desk together.

Delivery

6 weeks from order. We deliver to the mainland UK on a single standard pallet. It will be delivered by a third-party haulage company with standard curbside delivery terms. Someone has to be present on the arranged day to receive the pallet.

Can you deliver this desk outside of the UK?
At present we are not offering this service.

Desk 003 additional information

Can you make this desk from birch ply?

Yes, in addition to the standard veneer finishes we can make this desk from birch ply with natural or grey stain and exposed plywood edges.

Can I have the desktop in grey or natural instead of the marmoleum black?

Yes. Please confirm at the point of order.

Can you make the desk wider?

Yes, please contact us with size requirements to establish a price.

Can you add a pull-out qwerty keyboard shelf?

Yes, it will have a maximum width of 500mm.

Can you add a pull-out midi keyboard shelf?

No, this design can't incorporate this, please see our range of studio desks with a keyboard tray.

Can I fit a monitor arm to the desk?

Yes, the rear of the desktop will accept a monitor arm clamp or be drilled through to accept the bolt. If you let us know your requirements we can assist with drilling the hole or provide additional material to facilitate the clamp. There will be no cost implication.

Can you build speaker stands in a matching finish? If so how much?
Yes. but only as a custom build item built for you at the time we make your desk. We would need to confirm sizes and heights and are happy to get into this discussion with you. Likely price £300 to £400 per pair.
