StudioRacks – Music Studio Desk – 002

StudioRacks Desk 002 is a contemporary music studio desk, ideal for home studios and professional audio settings.

Built from top-grade birchwood plywood the desk is available in 4 standard finishes, natural birch ply, light grey, dark grey or brown with the option of a desktop finished in a top covering of black marmoleum.

On each side of the desktop, there is 4u of rack space, for easy access to frequently used equipment.

The lower racks can be customised to your preference, you can have either 2 x 8u racks or 2 x shelf units or 1 of each. When the order is placed we will contact you to get your preference on these lower racks. The shelf is adjustable and has 3 height positions.

There is a pull-out keyboard with a clear height of 125mm, which can be used for a qwerty keyboard and mouse and still has room for a small midi controller keyboard or other equipment behind.

There is a bridge at the rear of the keyboard shelf for cable runs between each rack/cupboard. with a large number of hidden cable holes for routing.

The desk is fitted with adjustable feet to give an additional 10mm for levelling up on uneven floors.

All our desks are supplied with a bag of nuts, bolts, and washers to fit gear to the racks.

Construction

We are supplying these desks part built and will only need some basic level of hands-on construction to bring the desks to life.

Can it be handled and assembled by one person?

Yes, but it would be better with 2 people. The heaviest component will be approx. 25kg

How long will it take to assemble the desk?

Once in the room and unpacked we would anticipate it to take between 1 and 2 hours.

What tools do I need?

All you will need is a medium-sized cross-head screwdriver to fit the desk together.

Dimensions

What is the overall footprint of the desk?

790m deep x 1830mm wide. The height of the desktop from the floor is 765mm.  The 4u desktop rack sits 100mm above the desktop.

Keyboard dimensions

The keyboard shelf is 1305mm wide x 300mm deep with a knee clearance of 600mm to the underside of the shelf. Shelf cutaway in the centre to give additional knee height space (18mm).

Delivery

6 weeks from order. We deliver to the mainland UK on a single standard pallet. It will be delivered by a third-party haulage company with standard curbside delivery terms. Someone has to be present on the arranged day to receive the pallet.

Can you deliver this desk outside of the UK?

At present we are not offering this service.

Desk 002 additional information

Can I have 5u of rack space on top of the desk and what extra cost?

Yes, at no additional cost. The amount of space behind the rack will be reduced by approx 40mm.

Will the keyboard tray hold a 88 note keyboard?

It will be large enough for some 88 note keyboards but not all. See the dimensions of the keyboard tray.

Can you make the desk bigger to fit my 88 note keyboard?

Please email us the dimensions of the keyboard. We may be able to make the desk wider to make it work. There will be a cost implication.

Can I have the desk without the 4u top rack?

Yes please state this when ordering.

Can you make this desk from one of your standard veneered finishes?

No. Birch ply is particularly suitable for the design of this desk.

Can I have a different colour other than light grey or natural?

We have a dark brown (similar to walnut) finish and can offer this darker woodgrain finish at a small additional cost of £20. Please contact us prior to ordering to confirm.

Can I have the desktop in grey or natural instead of the marmoleum black?

Yes. Please confirm at the point of order.

Can you make it wider?

Yes, please contact us with size requirements to establish the price

Can you make the desktop straight without the cutout above the keyboard shelf ?

Yes, please email us at the time of purchasing to confirm your requirements.

Can you build speaker stands in a matching finish? If so how much?

Yes, but only as a custom build item built for you at the time we make your desk. We would need to confirm sizes and heights and are happy to get into this discussion with you. Likely price £200 to £300 per pair.

I have to get the desk parts up a small staircase. What is the largest piece?

The floor-standing unit which is fully assembled measures 585mm deep x 530mm wide x 745mm high.

Can I have the desk without the pullout keyboard tray?

The design requires a keyboard shelf. We should be able to adapt the design of this desk to exclude, please email to establish costs.

Can I fit a monitor arm to the desk?

Yes, the rear of the desktop will accept a monitor arm clamp or can be drilled through to accept the bolt. If you let us know your requirements we can assist with drilling the hole or provide additional material to facilitate the clamp. There will be no cost implication.

Can I have the desk without the two 4u upper 19” racks?

Yes

Rather than the 2 x 4u desktop racks is it possible just to have a single central rack?
