StudioRacks – Music Studio Desk – 006

Incorporating a pull-out keyboard tray that is suitable for a large number of keyboards including many with 88keys such as the Komplete Control S88, Nord Stage 4, as well as many Yamaha, Studiologic and Roland keyboards, the StudioRacks desk 006 has been designed from our experience with building custom desks for many professional composers and musicians. Whilst it remains compact and versatile and is very suitable for smaller rooms desk 006 is essentially desk 005 with a 3u 19” rack on top and a deeper central area to accommodate the rack. The cut-away winged design at the back of the desk allows speaker stands to be brought up close to the back of the desk, if required, to give you the choice when positioning the monitoring set up.

A compact studio desk that would look great in a large home studio or professional studio alike. StudioRacks Music Desk 006 provides plenty of desk area within reach from the central user position. Whilst we primarily concentrated on achieving a reasonable desk top height with a usable pull-out shelf for larger keyboards with an acceptable amount of knee clearance in the central position (620mm), this pull-out shelf can be used for smaller keys, standalone drum machines, pedals, user interfaces etc. The keyboard tray has an overall size of 350mm deep x 1400mm wide. There is additional space of at least
50mm behind the tray for in/out plugs and wires that will allow for a deeper keyboard.

The central 3u desktop rack provides easy hand on access to any equipment mounted as well as serving as a screen riser. If required we can make this 19” rack a different height to accommodate 1u/2u or 4u of 19”rack space at no additional cost. Please specify at point of order.

The lower 19” racks have 9u each side, with a racking depth of up to 400mm (before protruding out of the rear of the rack) is therefore suitable for the vast majority of 19” rack-mounted audio equipment.

The lower racks can if you prefer be specified to be 2 x shelf units or 1x 9u unit and 1 shelf unit. When the order is placed we will contact you to get your preference on these lower racks. The shelf is adjustable and would have 3 height positions.
It is available in a range of veneer finishes. There are hardwood edges to the desktop and front of the lower racks to provide extra durability.

There are a large number of cutouts and a spanning shelf that allows the cables to be passed left or right to the 19” racks without trailing on the floor and thus remaining largely out of view.

The desk comes equipped with adjustable feet to give an additional 10mm for leveling up on uneven floors or to gain a small extra amount of knee space. All our desks are supplied with caged nuts washers and bolts for mounting gear onto the rack strips. A marmoleum desktop surface is available as an optional extra.

Construction
We are supplying these desks part built and will only need some basic level of hands-on construction to bring the desks to life.

I have to get the desk parts up a small staircase. What is the largest piece?
The rack cabinets are 590mm deep at the deepest point x 530mm wide x 740mm high. It should be ok to
go upstairs although at a weight of approximately 23 kg it would be essential to have 2 people carrying
this and also the desktop.

How long will it take to assemble the desk?
Once in the room and unpacked we would anticipate it to take approx 1 hour to assemble
What tools do I need?
All you will need is a medium-sized cross-head screwdriver to fit the desk together.

Delivery

6 weeks from order. We deliver to the mainland UK on a single standard pallet. It will be delivered by a third-party haulage company with standard kerbside delivery terms. Someone has to be present on the
arranged day to receive the pallet.

Can you deliver this desk outside of the UK?

At present, we are not offering this service.

Can you make this desk from birch ply?

Birch ply of any quality is, at present, not available in the UK, should this change it would be possible to
use Birch ply

Can you make the desk wider?
Yes, please contact us with size requirements to establish a price.

Can I fit a monitor arm to the desk?
Yes, the rear of the desktop will accept a monitor arm clamp or be drilled through to accept the bolt. If
you let us know your requirements we can assist with drilling the hole or provide additional material to
facilitate the clamp. There will be no cost implication.

Can you build speaker stands in a matching finish? If so how much?
Yes. but only as a custom build item built for you at the time we make your desk. We would need to
confirm sizes and heights and are happy to get into this discussion with you. Likely price £300 to £400
per pair.
